Five Possible Topics for Research Arguments:

1) Psychiatric Care - I have two main reasons for choosing this topic.  One being that I have someone close to me that I believe should receive a psychological evaluation of some sort as well as care to follow because it is obvious to me that he could be a danger to himself and others.  The other is actually something I saw on TV about someone who had paranoid schizophrenia.  This man sought help on several occasions and five of these times he murdered someone very soon after being denied the help that he was looking for.
2) The Legal Drinking Age - I personally believe its bogus that the government believes that a young adult between the ages of 18 and 21 can be made responsible for the life of another human being as they are eligible to join the military as being responsible enough to vote and make decisions for the entire nation, but still not responsible enough to drink alcohol.
3) The Legalization of Marijuana - There are several studies that prove that Marijuana is less damaging or dangerous than other drugs like Tobacco or Alcohol while these things are legal.  It could also provide us with a new market, which could help our damaged economy.
4) The Identity Rights of Adopted Children - I personally believe that the Adoptive Parents should be made responsible for determining whether or not the Biological Parents may be allowed to see these children.  The process of adoption forfeits parenthood and/or legal responsibility to the Adoptive Parents, and the presence of two sets of parents could confuse the children or detract from the parenting experience of the Adoptive Parents and I believe that is an infringement on their rights.
5) Stem Cell Research - Though it is clichéd, I believe that Stem Cell Research will have a major role in the future of medicine.  There are many moral conflicts with this, but I think the opportunity is too good to pass up.
